"The Sash window company has fitted wooden sash windows to two of my houses. I had replacement windows to the front on one house some 18 years ago. Theses windows still operate perfectly and show no sign of age, they have been painted regularly. I was extremely happy with these windows and subsequently had the remaining widows replaced in my houses. I have no hesitation in recommending this firm for their craftsmanship and expertise. Overall the firm represents very good value for money"

Why Period Homeowners Trust Charlie Burgess
Unlike general building firms or plastic window sales companies, Eden Sash Windows operates strictly within the heritage joinery discipline. We preserve what is sound, rebuild what is decayed, and install replacement timber windows built strictly to match historic sightlines.
Rotten Sill & Frame Splicing
Decayed sills and lower box frames are cut back cleanly to solid timber before inserting precision hardwood or Accoya splices, fixed with marine-grade epoxy resins to prevent unnecessary full-box replacements.
Draught Exclusion & Cord Rebalancing
We machine discreet nylon pile brush seals directly into new staff beads and parting beads, string wax-impregnated cotton cords, and rebalance lead weights for an effortless glide with zero rattles.
Double Glazing Upgrades
Fitted into existing sashes or newly manufactured bespoke sashes, our argon-filled units maintain fine historic sightlines and authentic glazing bars while meeting modern thermal and acoustic standards.
Working With Wandsworth, Lambeth, Richmond & Surrey Conservation Areas
From the Shaftesbury Park Estate in Battersea to the Georgian quarters of Kennington and riverside villas in Richmond, period architecture requires strict adherence to planning regimes. Article 4 Directions frequently prohibit non-timber materials or altered glazing bar profiles.
Eden Sash Windows operates within a 15-mile radius of our Battersea workshop. Charlie Burgess provides detailed written specifications that satisfy freeholders and conservation officers alike, ensuring historic aesthetics remain intact while delivering draft-free thermal comfort.
Questions About Our Surveys & Restoration
Answers to common questions regarding timber repairs, survey appointments, and historic property guarantees.
What happens during the initial survey?
Charlie Burgess conducts a physical assessment of your sills, box frames, pulley stiles, meeting rails, and counterweights. We check timber moisture levels, test sash operation, and review local planning constraints before issuing a transparent, itemised written quotation.
Can you repair sills that have rotted through?
Yes. In most cases, full box replacement is unnecessary. We cut away the soft, decayed timber back to sound wood and splice in new seasoned hardwood or Accoya sections, bedded in structural two-part epoxy to ensure total water resistance.
What does your 10-year guarantee cover?
All new bespoke timber sash window installations carry a comprehensive 10-year guarantee against timber rot, manufacturing defects, and glazing seal failures, supported by full FENSA certification for peace of mind.
Do you carry out same-day emergency repairs?
Yes. For broken glass, snapped cords that leave windows open, or impact damage, we provide same-day call-outs between 08:00 and 18:00, Monday to Saturday. If bespoke glass is required, we board and weather-proof the aperture immediately before fitting.
